| I have a fanfic back-up journal |
[25th. Apr|10:18 am] |
I am currently in the process of copying my fics over from rifleman95 and sharpies_pen to their InsaneJournal equivalent, sharpiepen. I will continue to post fics at my LiveJournal fic journals, but I wish to make you aware of my backup, should anything go pear-shaped here on LJ.
Thank you for your attention. We now return to our irregular posting schedule.

Word count: 1400 Spoiler: Sharpe's Sword (book) Rating: PG Pairing/Characters: Sharpe, Teresa Note: I was asked to write something with Teresa, and this is what happened. It almost wrote itself; Teresa being a particular favourite of mine who doesn't get nearly enough screen- or page-time.

| A couple of drabbles |
[26th. Mar|01:38 pm] |
I don't normally write drabbles. But sometimes drabbles want to be written.
Sharpe's Telescope
An awkward silence. A General who had to say thank you, and a newly-made Ensign who had to accept it. A gift held out – a telescope, brass plate shining in the sun. In gratitude. A.W. September 23rd.
“Remember, Mister Sharpe, an officer's eyes are more important than his sword.”
“Yes, sir.”
So much said. So much unsaid.
Sharpe held the walnut tube, twisting it. He looked up. “Thank you, sir. For everything.”
A smile on a cold face. Blue eyes lighting up. “No. Thank you, Mister Sharpe.”
Another pause. “I will look after it, sir.”
A smile. “I know.”
Sharpe's Memento
The telescope rested, battered and scratched, on a rock. The man who had thieved it was dead. Sharpe picked it up, caressed it and tucked it away.
Later, watching the French with it, Sharpe felt someone watching him. “Sir?”
An eyebrow raised. “I thought you would have sold it.”
“For drink? Never been that thirsty, sir.”
An answering smile. “You kept it.”
“And the memories, sir. I think I've used the sword more, though.”
“And the rifle?”
“That, too.”
“A most unusual officer, Mister Sharpe.”
“But still an officer. Thank you, sir.”
Sash, sword and telescope. He was an officer. |

| Sharpe's Respect |
[1st. Mar|08:58 pm] |
Spoiler: Sharpe's Eagle Word Count: 1684 Rating: U Pairing/Characters: Sharpe, Harper, Edrington CROSSOVER FIC Author's Note: Edrington was not given a first name anywhere in canon. I have chosen to call him Alexander, because of all the names given to him in various fanfics, this is my favourite. I've also promoted him, though not as much as I maybe should have; a Major in 1797 should be a General in 1809. I couldn't stretch credibility much more...
The story is set after Sharpe's Eagle. I have taken elements of both the TV episode and the book, and meshed them together. I hope it works.
